The gang

... minus myself, of course.
Someone has to be the taker of the pictures, you know!

Wendy, David, Allan, Matthew, Nick and Lucifer

Speaking of Nick (as i was... kind of), his brand new book, Turbo Drome just got released today, and i know it would make him soooo happy if you bought one!
It's 48 pages, size is 10" by 10" on very nice paper, as always, and the price is only $20 US.
Oh, and there are two different covers to choose from!
So yeah, please go buy this bad boy, you won't regret it!

So fancy, can't wait to get my hands on one of these!

Red Box in real life

Hey guys, it's me again, but don't worry, i'm not here to blog about booking or tattoos or boring crap like that so soon.
No, i have more exciting news... or maybe not news if you already follow the blog of one Mr. Electric Pick, but in case you don't (seriously though, why don't you?), here's the exciting news:
Nick's already famous web comic Red Box has been made into an actual book!
You know, the kind you can sit and read with a nice cup of tea, or give to people for Christmas.
Yeah, that kind!

The book is 240 pages of hard cover goodness, with an extra 35-ish pages of extra arty awesomeness by Jesse Smith, Ben Newman, Davee Blows, Edek, Tom Haubrick, Uncle Allan and Honkey Kong.
You can get all that for 465 Hong Kong dollars, which converts roughly into 60 us dollars, 47 euro, and 38 uk pounds, and you can order via info@clandestinerepublic.com.
Go to the Electric Plog to read more and see a preview of this beauty!

Dino drawings up for grabs!

The Dino Baby is back from a successful trip to Iceland, which you can read more about here, but since he didn't have time to do all the pieces he'd prepared, there are some sweet leftovers for you guys.
So you can get tattooed without even having to use your brain to come up with ideas or anything!
He'd really love to do either of these designs, so if you're interested in getting one or more of these babies, send him an email (tankrjc@gmail.com) or give him a call (+ 45 28 68 49 34).

Easy as that!

Sweet stuff indeed... get on that asap!

Ladies for sale... wait, what?!

I'm not really in a blogging mood today... or an anything mood really.
We're actually off for our summer vacation (ha!) but as in most of Europe, the weather in Copenhagen is crap.

But when summer depression (it's a thing now) is getting me down, so far down i don't even feel like blogging over here, that's when i'm happy i started this blog.
Cause when it comes to the shop, and our little shop family, there's always something good and positive to be said.

Right now, Nick just posted some brand new sketches and some new originals for sale on his pickturebox blog.
I know, exciting stuff, right? But wait, that's not all!
No, he's even offering free shipping from August 1st till October 1st!
So, get an EP original for as little as 128 USD and get free shipping worldwide.
Yeah, you're welcome, internet!

The Great Outdoors

A Tomahawk In Your Pants (a personal favorite of mine...)

Yellow Sneakers
Lilly Apacheee

Oh, and while you're there, don't forget to check the older 2010 originals too!

Worth the wait

One of our clients, Innina from Switzerland, did a lovely post on her blog about her and her husbands recent visit to our studio where they got their long-awaited tattoos done.
Such nice pictures!

This is her tattoo

The Red Cross print is selling really well, and i'll be shipping out the first batch tomorrow.
Thanks to everyone who bought one, retweeted for us, mentioned us on their blog and facebook or told their friends about us.
We really appreciate your support and we can't wait to send the money from the sales to Japan.

*insert sound of crickets and tumbleweed*

Uhm, so, it's been a while, huh (*stares awkwardly at feet*)... anyone still here?
Lots have happened since we got back from Japan, but the truth is, i've been too busy to blog about it. Sorry about that.
Everyone at the shop is super busy these days, and the upcoming holidays isn't making it any better. But we're good, we're enjoying hanging out again, and returning to Denmark wasn't nearly as bad as i'd feared.
I think one of the main reasons we're actually enjoying being back, is the fact that we finally got our kitchen back.
Yeah, that's right, the water damage, and the mayhem that followed, has been fixed. And it only took them 7 months too!
There are still a ton of things that need fixing, like our heating for example, but there'll always be stuff like that, and for now i am just happy that my favorite room in the shop is back.

Christmas hygge in the front room
We were gonna go to the Swedish embassy today and get a rug to really tie the room together, but Allan is afraid to drive in this weather, so that's gonna have to wait (can't blame him, everything is covered in snow right now)
Present from a Russian client
A pretty bad picture of a pretty great room
What this kitchen really needs is more food related art work (hint hint, guys)
Apparently this is called a colander in English? Blogging is constantly teaching me something new!
Eckel put the photos back up on the photo wall while we were away... that could not have been easy!

Allan has been tattooing pretty much non-stop since we came back, but i haven't even really had time to beg him for blog photos.
But last night I did manage to snap a few pictures of this black and gray beauty he started last week, and continued on yesterday (that's why the angel is still a little scabby looking).

One more session and some touch up and this should be done
As you can see, Rasmus is now the proud (i assume) owner of two rare b&g Uncle Allan tattoos!

I promise (sort of) to post a little more regularly... or at least more than once a month, as soon as things start to slow down.
In the meantime, i suggest you go check out this sweet feature Marisa did about our beloved shop over on Needles and Sins.
And while you're there, do yourself a favor and browse the archives too, i guarantee you'll love it.

Whales are awesome

We watched The Cove last night.
It's amazing and we think you should watch it too.
Ok bye!

Fall In

Nicks art show (not a solo show, but we'll call it Nicks show anyway) was tonight.
It went well, the gallery was nice and there were lots of people there.
With all of us being just slightly socially awkward we didn't stay long, but it was nice and i highly recommend you go check it out.

Sweet idea, right?
Man of the hour
Allan and Ninja Thomas (and Lucifer) discussing something aahhtsy
Wookie got a new camera (mine broke, again, that's why these are all from the iPhone... sorry!)
The ladies!
It's Kulturnat in Cph, so there was a whole bunch of weird shit going down tonight

Like to read? Like tattoos?

The book about Danish tattooing that we told you about a little while back is now for sale at the shop.
Signed by the author and everything!
So come on down and buy your copy, we're sure you're gonna love it.

Almost makes it look like a real shop, right?
And just cause we love pictures of cake, here's the brownies brought, baked and individually wrapped by fridays client!

Soooo good!

Danish Tattooing by Jon Nordstrøm (with partial Uncle A nudity)

If you follow the other blog you may remember this post i did a while back about this tattoo book Allan was gonna be in.
No?
So there's this book, Danish Tattooing, and Allan's in it.
Ok, seriously, here's what it's all about (official press release from the publisher):

"Danish Tattooing by Jon Nordstrøm

New book offers unique insight into a colourful tradition from 1895 onwards and portrays the strong, Danish characters behind body art.
”Danish Tattooing” traces the visual development from 1895 up to the present day, with the Golden Age of the 1960s particularly rich on fascinating tales from a rough scene. The book is full of anecdotes and historical photographs of larger-than-life characters and tattooing hotspots: the raw Nyhavn, where sailors and drunk Swedes got their tattoos, and the even rougher Istedgade, which developed into a new tattooing hub in the 1980s. Actually, Copenhagen was the heart and soul of tattooing in Scandinavia until the mid-seventies.
The book returns to the present by portraying 14 working tattoo artists, along with their distinctive artwork – from classic designs to the latest graffiti and hip-hop styles. This is the new generation that will trace the next chapters in the history of Danish tattooing.
The book is in both Danish and English and will be released by Nordstroms Forlag on August 29. In connection with the release, pictures from the book will be exhibited at the KPH-Volume gallery, 80-82 Enghavevej, Copenhagen SV. Open: Saturday, August 29 to Monday, August 31.
The book will be available in Danish bookstores, at most tattoo conventions or through Gentleman’s Tattoo Flash."

The sweet cover
The handsomest man in the whole land
It's full of awesome machine goodness...
... Danish tattoo history...
... and rare flash
Oh, and me and Lucifer are in it too (i look stupid, but Lucifer is a natural!)

If you're in Copenhagen you should go check out the exhibition this weekend.
If you're not from around here, you can still pick up the book at a convention or through the good people at Gentleman’s Tattoo Flash.
As the press release says, it's in both Danish and English, so in addition to looking at the pretty pictures you'll be able to read it too.
Enjoy!
